Fool-a-fish 60ml Fishing Revolutionary Fool-a-Fish takes the angling world by storm. Fool-a-Fish is a harmless spray that makes lures and bait far more visible to fish. The spray is based on research that shows fish see and are attracted to light in the ultraviolet spectrum, which is invisible to the human eye but can travel up to half a mile underwater. It’s made of titanium dioxide, which reflects ultraviolet light, and works especially well in deep or murky water that other parts of the light spectrum can’t penetrate. “UV light has a short wavelength that humans can’t see, but titanium dioxide reflects it. The wavelength of light humans can see is absorbed quickly by water – at 40ft deep in a lake it’s black as the inside of a cow, but UV light can travel up to half a mile through water” explains the joint-inventor, Dr Milan Jeckle.
